Stability that comes with diversification and ability to take risks in management, bring dynamism into business life

Statistics show that when compared to women’s share in population, women around the world are not fairly represented in almost all areas of life including business world to politics, and science to art. However, the balance in the world is maintained through diversification and stability that comes with this. I strongly believe that the balance in representation of genders creates considerable positive results.

Correspondingly, I wish women to be represented more in business life and be more active here. I believe that the basic elements in achieving this are education and being well equipped. But these are not sufficient for success. Besides these, one needs to start with trust and confidence. In order to have women to take more active roles in business life, educating the society plays a major role coupled with enabling women to have confidence through social trust and help them see the opportunities instead of focusing only on challenges.

As a woman executive, I am pleased to be a part of Anadolu Group that champions diversity and undersigns many good practices in providing equal rights to its employees, similar to its other practices in several areas. Anadolu Group embraces diversity not only in male/female balance, but also in working styles. I believe this helps the Group protect and enrich its culture. Because each manager has his/her own business dynamism. I am, for example, is a manager who is focused not only the results but also the processes. However, I value a management style that follows the trends and does not hesitate to take risks when necessary. In fact, the importance of managing processes is shown here.  Data that you have gathered throughout the processes help you take the best decision. Yet all decisions bear a risk, but taking risks is part of being a leader. If you think about possible negative outcomes and hesitate, you never take steps forward and lose your chances to produce positive results.

In my professional life, I always value and promote team work and believe that the mutual trust between the leader and the team members is the key for business success. I do not consider my team only to be the people who report to me, but take all our stakeholders as part of my team. Therefore, I try to establish an open and transparent communication with all our employees and stakeholders.

I also give great importance to training people that I work with. I promote my team members to think in a broader perspective by asking them how they would decide if they had been in my shoes.

In light of all I explained above; in Efestur, we start our journey with a strong team work, trust and confidence and increase our pace in this journey with an increased enthusiasm.
