
The Source of Sustainable Innovation: Our Employees
In today’s world, innovation stands out as one of the most important concepts for companies as it is for everyone else. Especially companies which are producers, are setting aside an important portion of their budgets to areas such as R&D, in order both to reduce their costs and to be able to use the workforce they possess in an effective manner. Within this new approach, the way companies look at their employees, their expectations from them and the pace with which employees perform their work, has changed. The point which stands out the most within this balance, which is that every company expects their employees to be innovative, and the importance they place in innovation, has advanced by yet another step.
As Anadolu Group, we are quite lucky in this respect. The story of our success is stated with equivalent value with the “Innovativeness and being a leader” vision possessed by our founders. While operating successfully in 18 countries due to this, our Group possesses a large and strong structure.
We know that, with the importance we attach to innovativeness, the most important source that will carry Anadolu Group even further forward is our skilled workforce – that is to say our employees. I am happy with the interest shown by our employees in our innovation portal, ‘Ino-Port’, which we have put into practice with this approach, in 2012. We have seen that, with their ideas and project recommendations, we have achieved significant levels of reductions in costs and improvements in our production line. The atmosphere of innovation possessed by our Group, will, as always, continue to grow and develop together with our employees.
Another area which we are required to conduct together with our culture of innovation, presents itself to us as “Sustainability”. As a Group which has adopted the principle of being the leader in every sector it operates in, we have been continuing our endeavours in connection with sustainability for many years. As an indicator of this, our company Anadolu Efes, succeeded in becoming the first Turkish company to enter the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. When preparing this index, thousands of companies, with the highest financial performance, from all sectors throughout the world are included in the evaluation carried out every year, as a result of which the companies with the highest sustainability performance are listed.
